Thailand & Cambodia to Sign Border Declaration: Strengthening Regional Stability
During the 2025 ASEAN Summit, Thailand and Cambodia are expected to sign the Declaration of Thailand–Cambodia Relations to resolve long-standing border tensions and enhance bilateral security.
Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow shared that both sides reached preliminary agreements on several key areas:
- Withdrawal of heavy weapons and joint landmine clearance to reduce border risks;
- Cross-border cooperation to combat online scams and illegal activities;
- Measures to prevent territorial encroachment and improve communication mechanisms.
The declaration is expected to be signed on October 25, marking an important step toward greater ASEAN stability, peace, and labour mobility cooperation.
